The West Midlands Brass Band Association's (WMBBA) recent youth training day proved a real success.
Challenge
Over 30 young players converged on Studley High School at the end of last month for a day of full band and sectional rehearsals on several challenging pieces of music.
Local players
The players were from many local bands including Langley, Jackfield, Avonbank, Hathern, Arrow Valley, Shipston and Black Country Brass, with ages ranging from 7 — 16.
The day was directed by John Berryman, with the help of Jessica Powell-Jones, Warren Benshaw and Amy Gray.

Encouraging
Commenting on the day, WMBBA chair Barbera Dunscome told 4BR: "This is the first event of its type that the association has held and the number of young people attending is hugely encouraging.
Many have made new friends over the day and everyone has enjoyed themselves. We aim to run the event again next year and hopefully make this an annual event."
