Earlier this year former Brighouse & Rastrick flugel player John Lee released his first solo album backed by the all female band, Boobs & Brass.
Amazing success
The CD has been an amazing success and has helped raise over £15,000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.
Since the launch, John has moved back to his roots at the City of Sheffield Band (formerly Stocksbridge Band) and has invited the girls from Boobs & Brass up to Sheffield for a Christmas concert at the Cutlers Hall in December.
Star performer
The event will feature one of the brass band movements finest performers, former Black Dyke soprano cornet player, Michelle Ibbotson, who will be the evening’s guest soloist.
The girls from Boobs & Brass have chosen a new project for this year and because of the new links forged in Sheffield, have chosen a research project at Sheffield University, which is being led by Professor Nicola Brown4BR

John told 4BR: "It’s wonderful news and a real coup to have the girls coming up to Sheffield, especially having Michelle Ibbotson as the guest soloist. The search for the cure goes on, and we are all trying to do our bit to help thousands of people."
