Carl Saunders formally took over the role of bandmaster of The Household Troops Band of Salvation Army on the weekend, following the retirement of John Mott after 25 years in the role.
Remarkable tenure
The cornet player has been an integral part of the band over the past few years and took up his new role following a weekend of celebration that saw John Mott’s remarkable tenure recognised by a private band dinner, a march through the city of Cambridge and a concert at Cambridge Citadel.
