The newly crowned National Champion, Brighouse & Rastrick has announced the immediate appointment of Sandy Smith, former principal horn with Black Dyke, to the position of Resident Conductor.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Following the recent vacancy the band officials in liaison with their Professional Conductor, Professor David King, have been pursuing the best option for the band’s continued success."

With over thirty years of experience at the very highest level of banding, Sandy Smith’s musical output has found increasing critical acclaim with his associations with numerous top flight bands.
