There's no rest for MD Garry Hallas and his players at Emley Brass it seems, as October has already seen them compete at the Bolsover Entertainment Contest, coming 5th against a strong field of rivals, as well as provide the music for a high society wedding in Wakefield.

The band has a full diary for the remainder of the month too, with concerts in Sheffield to feature Grimethorpe principal cornet player Robert Westacott, at the National Coal Mining Museum as well as their own annual village craft fair, where the band will be hoping to push sales of their latest CD, ‘From the Top'.
