Brass bands are in the news again with a good piece of reporting on the current state of the banding movement on the BBC website – despite the usual faux-pas of thinking bands all play bleeding trumpets!!!

Still, entertainments reporter Ian Youngs, (although it is interesting to note that the banding movement doesn’t come under the arts and culture banner) has done a pretty good job in given the movement a high profile boost and a mention is made of the Lower Section Finals at Harrogate on the weekend.
