Future buds at City of Cardiff

A future generation of buddding young musical talent is set to be planted at City of Cardiff.

Mel

The highly successful City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band is continuing to set its sights firmly on the future with the news that they are to form their own youth band

Compliment

The band will compliment its existing Senior Band (M1) and Development Band (M2) and will hopefully be attracting young players under the age of 18 who are looking to play brass instruments, regardless of ability under the direction of the band’s MD, Gareth Ritter.

Promise

Band Chairman Dave Howard told 4BR: "There is no better way to improve playing ability and all-round musicianship than playing in an ensemble, and, with Gareth Ritter in charge, this promises to be one of the best."

Come along

Rehearsals will be held in the band room at the rear of Tongwynlais Village Hall on Sunday afternoons and there are plans for the band to play in concerts and competitions in 2011.

If you are interested in coming along to their first rehearsal at 5.00pm on Sunday, October 10th, or contact Dave Howard on 07867 553040 or email info@cardiffbrass.com
