Silk Brass and Blidworth Welfare open up for Harrogate

Silk Brass and Blidworth Welfare are the latest Harrogate contenders to open their doors for a sneak pre Nationals contest preview.

Harrogate

Silk Brass is opening up its rehearsal to the public this Sunday, to help with their final preparations for the National Finals in Harrogate.

Silk's Diversion

The band will perform at the Daneside Theatre in Congleton to give local fans a chance to see them put through their paces by conductor, Dave Holling on the First Section set work, 'Diversions on a Bass Theme'.

Bandmaster, Bob Goodwin told 4BR: "We’re hoping that we’ll get quite a few people for our open rehearsal. Not only will it give them a chance to see just what we’re doing, but it will give us a chance to put on a performance in front of an audience, which will hopefully help with any contest day nerves."

Everyone is welcome and the start time for the free night is 8.00pm.

Blidworth's psalms

Meanwhile, Blidworth Welfare Band will present their open rehearsal of the Second Section set work, 'Psalms and Alleluias' at Blidworth Welfare, Mansfield Road, Blidworth at 8.00pm on Thursday 23rd September.

They will also features some other pieces too as well as a couple of run throughs of the test piece.

Admission is free and doors open at 7.45 pm
