At the recent AGM of Silk Brass, long-standing Chairman Barry Worth, decided to step down from the position due to pressure of work.
New Chairman
Taking his place is trombonist Andy Snelson, who, in his working life, is an undertaker for Co-op Funeral Care based in Crewe.
Andy has a long pedigree in music and hopes that his tenure will coincide with continued success for Silk Brass: "I can only say how pleased I am to see the progress of the band. Who would have thought back in 1997 that we would be competing against as Faireys, Fodens and Leyland in the top section? It’s all down to the dedication of our players."

Proud
He added: "I'm proud to have been elected as Chairman at this exciting time and want to thank Barry for his contribution to the band, both as our chairman for the last 6 years and as an outstanding Eb player."
