Brian Clarke has stepped down as MD of Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band, following his last performance with the band at a recent local concert.
Brian joined Bilton in 1988 following a distinguished playing career which included playing for City of Coventry, (where he was principal cornet for over 25 years) as well as leading Harry Mortimer’s 'Men o’Brass' for a period of time.

Constant feature
A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "Throughout Brian’s 22 years as MD his success in providing entertaining concerts has been a constant feature, and the annual list of events, with many longstanding repeat engagements, is a testament to this ability to pick an appropriate programme for every occasion, and his skill in training the band to reach the required level of performance."

In recognition of all of his work, Brian has twice been voted 'Bandsperson of the Year' by the band’s members.
The spokesperson added: "The band thanks Brian for all his hard work over the years, and looks forward to welcoming him to their future events and concerts."
