Ern Keller invite

In addition to title, and prize money, the winner of the Senior Solo Championship will receive expenses to compete in the 2011 Ern Keller International Soloist of the Year competition in Australia.

Five categories

There are five categories:

Open Solo:

A qualifying round decide who will become the British Open Soprano/Cornet, Flugel/Horn, Baritone/Euphonium, Trombone and Bass Champions, with the top six competitors taking part in the final.

This competition is with piano accompanist, which is provided by Roddy Barrand and David Jones if required.

Senior Quartet Championship:

It would be preferable if quartet parties could be formed from members of the same band, but it is not essential.

Intermediate Slow Melody Championship (without piano accompanist):

This section is for competitors under the age of seventeen. The section is also run in two parts, a qualifying round to decide the five finalists.

Junior Slow Melody Championship (without piano accompanist):

This section is for competitors under the age of twelve.

Depending on the number of entries, a qualifying round will take place to decide the five finalists. All competitors in this section receive certificates.

Junior Quartet Championship:

Quartet parties must be bona fide members of the same band and must be under the age of seventeen.
