The East Sussex Summer School Band recently performed to a full audience at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne.
Young brass players from 12 to 21 met up from across East Sussex under resident conductor Marcus Plant.
Guest conductor
This Summer their guest conductor of the last 4 years returned — Nigel Boddice MBE to put them through their paces. The band performed a wide variety of music in their programme including 'Amazonia', 'Malvern Suite', 'Mr Sandman', and 'Mardis Gras in New Orleans'.
Soloists
Three soloists were featured — Jonathan Moles playing 'Donnegal Bay' on euphonium, soprano Harvey Hall performing 'Mary of Argyll' and George Ellis with his beat boxing tuba on 'Fnugg Blue'.
The East Sussex Brass Band has recently performed in numerous venues in Scotland led by Marcus Plant.
