The Matlock Band is starting to put the final touches to its preparations for the celebration of its 150th anniversary.

It’s understood that Matlock’s first serious competition outings saw them take part successfully at the British Open in the 1860’s and 150 years on the band is still proudly continuing the tradition of music making in Matlock and the surrounding areas.

In order to mark this anniversary, the band is holding a free concert in Matlock on Friday in October where some of their treasured memorabilia will be on display.

Ex-Members

The band are seeking ex-members to join them on the evening to take part in the concert or come and listen and are hoping to expand on the memorabilia already collected to cover photos/articles/memories from the 150 years of it’s existence.
