Butlins Mineworkers Festival contest organiser, Brian Eggleshaw has informed 4BR that he envisages a possible record number of entrants for the 2011 Festival in Skegness next January.
Record levels
Brian is already faced with the real possibility that he may be unable to accept any further entrants to both the First and Second Sections, whilst the numbers confirmed for the Championship, Third and Fourth are reaching record levels.
Popular
"It’s a sign of just how popular Butlins has become as a contest that we are faced with this wonderful problem," Brian told 4BR.
"I am already close to the maximum number of bands we can cope with in the First and Second Sections, whilst the numbers for the other sections is growing by the day."
Not quite full up
Brian isn’t putting the ‘Full House’ signs up just yet however. "We can still accommodate bands in the Third and Fourth Sections and we hope that we can have a reserve list for bands just in case a band may have to drop out."
If bands are interested then please get in touch with me as soon as possible. We will try our very best to try and accommodate everyone, but the sooner you contact us the betterBrian Eggleshaw
Act now
However, he does advise bands that if they are interested in competing for a share of the £30,000 plus prize money on offer, then they had better be quick about getting in touch.
