With the launch of SBBA Radio, the Scottish Brass Band Association has joined the internet podcast community.
Monthly programme
SBBA Radio’s monthly programmes are accessed via the SBBA website and include a digest of brass band news, views, interviews and new music tracks.
Hosts
The hosts are SBBA’s irrepressible Development Officer Alan Edmond and bass trombonist Mark Good, a second year student at the RSAMD and member of the National Youth Band of Scotland.
As Alan explained: "We want to keep the Scottish brass band community in touch what’s going on in Scotland and in the wider brass band world."
Alan is aiming high: "If we can bring the voices and views of members and fans, young and old, of Scottish bands onto the webcast, more people will aspire to be on the show in future and therefore commit more to their own bands and the events that take place throughout the country."

The first programme, from May, included interviews with Craig Anderson (Cumnock Academy) and young cornet ace Calum Tonner plus members of West Lothian Schools Band, including conductor Nigel Boddice.
June’s second programme saw SBBA Radio at the European Brass Band Championships in Linz, where Bon Accord flew the flag for Scotland.
