4BR has been informed that Brian Lamb has been appointed the new MD at Barnton Silver Band.

Press Officer Karen Probert told 4BR: "Brian has a wealth of experience having played with Besses, BT, CWS Manchester and Wingates, and he has also conducted a number of bands in the area. He had been helping us on an informal basis for some time, so we were delighted when he agreed to accept the job on a formal basis."

New and dynamic

Brian added: "The band now has a new, dynamic management team. We have attracted a number of new players, we have some exciting concerts planned and intend to return to contesting in the near future."
