Advert: Prima Vista Musikk

New names and exciting new titles are set to fly off the shelves at Prima Vista Mussikk — from PLC to Philip Wilby

PLC

Prima Vista Musikk has quickly established itself as one of the leading specialist publishers of brass band music. With an emphasis on new and diverse repertoire the PVM catalogue is growing day by day, constantly adding to an impressive roster of artists.

Great names

Philip Wilby, Gareth Wood, Rodney Newton, Peter Meechan, Dan Price, Ray Farr, Robert Childs, Barry Forgie, Paul Lovattt-Cooper and Cai Isfryn are just some of the artists who appear in the PVM catalogue.

Now we welcome some new names with spectacular additions to the brass band repertoire.

#pqProlific

Karl Jenkins CBE is one of the most prolific, popular and performed composers in the world today. His work, 'The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace' alone has been performed over 700 times in 20 different countries since the CD was released, while his recorded output has resulted in 17 gold and platinum disc awards.

No introduction

Peter Graham needs no introduction to brass band enthusiasts.

Together with the likes of Wilby and Sparke he has pushed the boundaries of brass band repertoire for over 20 years.

Known primarily as a composer, Peter is also one our finest arrangers and its in this capacity he appears on the PVM roster with a superb new concert suite of music by Karl Jenkins entitled, 'Aspects of Adiemus'.

Great demand

Philip Harper is in great demand as one of the brass band movement's most talented composer and arrangers.

His works are played throughout the world and Prima Vista have the privilege of presenting his latest concert suite composed for the Black Dyke Band.

'Constellations' is a twelve minute concert suite in varying styles designed to allow a band's soloists and sections to shine.

Success

Phil Lawrence is 'Composer in Residence' of the newly crowned English National Champions, Fairey (Geneva).

In this capacity he has released a successful album of his own compositions and arrangements with the band and contributed significantly to the Fairey's concert repertoire.

Prima Vista Musikk present two of Phil's popular concert compositions, 'Grand March — The Wizard' and ' A Slow Ride in a Static Machine.'

Leading voice

Paul McGhee is a leading voice in contemporary music for brass and here we have his latest work selected by the Swiss National Championships as their 2010 test-piece.

With a somewhat intriguing title Swiss bands will be put through their paces in Montreux later this year with Paul's cutting edge extended work, 'Waiting for a Pain Hit!??!!?'

Diverse and varied

Prima Vista Musikk Operations Manager, Christian Jenkins told 4BR: "As a company dedicated to pioneering diverse and varied repertoire for brass band we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with such luminaries. We believe in the music we publish and are convinced these new additions will be a great success."
