Marsden Silver Prize made it a march & hymn tune double on the weekend as they also won the Morley contest under the direction of Alan Hobbins.
Seven bands took part in the contest, where Marsden beat off the strong challenge of Yorkshire Imperial DUT and local favourites Drighlington to pick up £610 in prize money for their performance of the hymn ‘Hine-e-Hine’ and the march ’Knight Templar’.
