World champions set to support National Eisteddfod

Cory

The current World, European and British Open Champion, Cory, has revealed that they will be helping to raise the profile of the forthcoming National Eisteddfod of Wales which is due to take place in Ebbw Vale next month.

Cultural event

The most important cultural event in Wales returns to the former steel making town for just the second time in the last fifty years, and organisers hope that Cory will kickstart local support for the iconic festival which will take place on the site of the former Ebbw Vale Steelworks.

Looking forward

Cory MD Dr Robert Childs is certainly looking forward to the Gala Concert which will take place on Thursday 24th June at Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre.

"The National Eisteddfod is the single most important Welsh cultural event of the year and has worldwide appeal. Visitors from all parts of the globe come back to Wales each year to be part of it, and to be asked to help this year’s event in Ebbw Vale is a great honour for the band."

The concert will give people the chance to hear one of the finest cultural organisations in our country and will give the 2010 National Eisteddfod a fantastic kickstartorganisers

Star soloists

A spokesperson for the local organisers are also looking forward to a concert that will see Cory feature many of their star soloists as well as items from their recent sparkling Brass in Concert programmes.

"To be able to get Cory involved has given us all a great boost. They are such a wonderful musical ambassador for Wales. The concert will give people the chance to hear one of the finest cultural organisations in our country and will give the 2010 National Eisteddfod a fantastic kickstart."

Night to remember

Bob Childs is promising a night to remember. "Cory will be doing its best to ensure that out contribution to the Eisteddfod is one to remember – so I hope the concert gets plenty of support for what promises to be a great night."
