AW Parker passes the Musto

Martin Musto has been announced as the new principal cornet player of the AW Parker (Drybrook) Band.

 

The AW Parker (Drybrook) Band has announced the appointment of Martin Musto as their new principal cornet.

A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "Martin will provide strength and experience to the front row of Drybrook who have real ambitions of returning to the third section next year and upwards from there."

Warm welcome

Martin received a warm welcome from Drybrook where he has been reunited with many friends and all parties look forward to a long and happy association.

Martin comes to the band after a distinguished cornet playing career that has seen him start at Tewkesbury Band before enjoying stints at Forest of Dean, Lydmet Lydney Band and the West Mercia Police Band as principal cornet.

Conducting

As well as playing Martin has turned his talents to conducting and is currently MD Winchcombe Concert Brass, a post he has held for 18 months.

Family

Martin told 4BR: "I'm looking forward to a long, successful and enjoyable time with the band. Banding to me is very much a family affair with both my wife and daughter playing cornet and horn respectively and more recently my son who has just started."

June 17 • Our COMMUNITY BAND meet again on Monday (22nd) and we welcome players of all standards to join us for a relaxed,friendly rehearsal with Tea and cake and it’s all free.. Rehearsals are at 11am in our own bandroom playing with us does not effect your band.
