Stuart Lingard returns to top seat banding as he takes over as principal cornet at Brighouse & Rastrick.

After his recent return to top level banding on flugal horn, Brighouse & Rastrick has announced that Stuart Lingard has now taken over as their new principal cornet.

Name

Stuart made his name with the YBS Band and returned to top level banding playing flugel horn with Brighouse in their Yorkshire Regional Championship win at Bradford earlier in the season.

Musical Director, Professor David King, has been looking to recruit only the best players, with this position change for Stuart justifying this intentB&R

Only the best

A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "Following on from the win at Bradford, Musical Director, Professor David King, has been looking to recruit only the best players, with this position change for Stuart justifying this intent."

Stuart had been out of playing action following a bike accident, but has now recovered fully and will make his first appearance as principal cornet at the forthcoming Beverley Folk Festival.

Thanks

Although welcoming their new top man, the band also thanked Iain Culross for his help over the last month.

The spokesperson added: "Iain has earned respect from players and audiences alike with some impressive concert performances, including a number of 'Best Cornet' prize wins at the Whit Friday marches. We wish him well in his future musical pursuits."
