The organisers of the Dutch National Championships have announced an unprecedented list of five brand new commissions from composers for the contest to be held in December.

With help of the City of Groningen, Province Groninghen, North Music Appingedam and Fonds Cultuur Participatie sponsors, bands in each section will be faced with a brand new work from composers as diverse as Rodney Newton to Maurice Hamers.

The competition takes pace on the weeend of the 3rd/4th December in Groningen. The titles of the pieces will be announced shortly.
