Denis Wick Products are re-introducing the much-loved 'Classic' tuba range of mouthpieces.

The Heritage type shapes, inspired by 19th century designs, replaced the previous designs seven years ago, but in re-introducing the Classic shape Denis Wick is reverting to the original design, last manufactured in 1986.

Elegant

This design has the same elegant proportions as the 'Classic' trombone mouthpiece, and has always been a favourite in brass bands, and has been favoured by many leading players, including international soloist James Gourlay.

Rims

As well the normal rim profile, the mouthpieces will be available with XL rims for players who prefer a more rounded, Bach-style rim.

These designs will appeal to players with fuller lips; the rims of the 1XL, 2XL and 3XL are very comfortable to play and are excellent for players who require plenty of endurance, as the slightly wider rim surface offers more support.

Appreciate

Tuba soloists will appreciate the SL mouthpieces, which have a bowl-shaped cup rather than a traditional deep cup.

The 2SL combines this German-style cup with a massive backbore, giving a highly responsive low register as well as ringing high notes.

The 3SL is a great all-round mouthpiece and is ideal for situations where a more direct sound is needed, for instance, when playing jazz or brass quintet music.

Gold and Silver

The Classic tuba mouthpieces are available in either gold or silver plate.
