Whittingham remembered

Death of flugel player Jed Whittingham leads to wonderful rememberance.

Whittingham

The death of Boscombe Band's Jed Whittingham in February this year was reported on 4BR, and whilst his family, friends and former players all remember his with great affection, his spirit will live on with a special concert in aid of a wonderful charity that he was keen to support.

Trust

Whilst ill, he became aware that Bill Nimmo, a former SA bandsman with the International Staff Band, and Upper Norwood Band, who had retired to Boscombe, had also suffered a brain tumour.

Ged suggested that a Gala Concert might be held to raise funds for the 'Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust' and this was arranged for 25th June this year.

Despite Ged's death in February, the families of Bill and Ged requested that this event should go ahead and after a great deal of effort and organising, it will4BR

Going ahead

Despite Ged's death in February, the families of Bill and Ged requested that this event should go ahead and after a great deal of effort and organising, it will.

The proceeds of the concert will be given completely to the trust, but it can be supported by making a donation through the website, www.justgiving.com/Whittingham-Nimmo
