Results: Hahndorf Festival

Enfield Brass making it a trip to remember by taking the honours at the Hahndorf Festival in South Australia.

 

The Hahndorf Band Festival recently took place in South Australia, where the competiors enjoyed a beautiful day in the sun to provide some wonderful music making.

Honours

The Enfield Brass Band took the honours this year beating the four other contnders that included Campbelltown City Band (D Grade), Hahndorf Town Band (C Grade), K&N Youth Brass (D Grade) and Mitcham City Brass (C Grade).

The stage competition was a handicap event with all bands competing against each other in an even competition. Bands in D Grade received a bonus of 15 points and bands in C Grade had 10 points added to their final score.

Enjoyable programme

Enfield's Musical Director Robert Kavanagh selected a programme which proved to be enjoyable for both the audience and players, starting with 'Strike Up the Band' and 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White' featuring principal Cornet Mark Hall on Trumpet.

Next came 'Just a Gigolo' and the beautiful hymn 'Mid all the Traffic', before they finished their performance with the medley from the movie 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.
