A quartet of players from Newhall Band have won prizes at the recent Coalville Music Festival.
Time piece
Patricia Woodings, Shiela Dixon, Jo Priestley and Sharron Timperley-Smith won first prize in the open brass ensemble class by playing Peter Graham's quartet, 'Timepiece'.
Wonderful piece
Shiela told 4BR: "It's a wonderful piece but not easy to play, so we have put in many hours of practice. We all enjoyed the day and are delighted that the hard work paid off."
