The Enigma Air Conditioning Company has announced the launch of a new award under the auspices of scaba (Southern Counties Amateur Bands Association), entitled 'Brass in the Community'.
Award
The award will recognise bands in scaba’s membership who have built strong relationships within their respective local communities through innovation, creativity and sustained commitment to musical development, training, events and charitable causes.
Enigma is based in Thatcham, Berkshire and is a leader in the specialist design, supply, installation, maintenance and commissioning of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Equipment.
The winning band will receive a cheque for £500 and a glass shield which will bear the distinction of ‘scaba Community Band of the Year’4BR
Active supporters
Enigma’s management team are active supporters of the banding movement and identify with brass bands whose ‘real’ achievements in the band room and on the concert stage often go unrewarded.
£500 to be won
Launched at scaba’s recent Spring Contest, bands who wish to be considered for the award must fulfil criteria set out for the period Sunday 18th April 2010 to Friday 26th March 2011.
Winning band
The applications will be considered and a decision reached by an independent adjudicator with the winning band being announced at scaba’s 2011 Spring Contest.
The winning band will receive a cheque for £500 and a glass shield which will bear the distinction of ‘scaba Community Band of the Year’.
