Torbay swap denominations

Torbay Brass are on the move to a new bandroom — and in a new denomination.

After a number of years playing at the local Unitarian Church in Torquay, Torbay Brass Band has moved into new premises at the Chelston Methodist Churchin the town.

Forced move

Band Chairman David Wilkinson told 4BR: "The decision to move was really forced upon us when parking became a problem. The new bandroom is ‘lively’ to play in but we shall be working to deal with that in the days ahead."

For the good

David added: "We are looking forward to the future after a difficult time with players leaving of late. We have kept going and we managed to go to the areas, and we are looking forward to competing in more contests over the year starting at Weston Super Mare. Things are changing for the good already."
