Katrina Marzella is getting ready to produce a bit of her magic in Belgium this weekend.

Baritone star Katrina Marzella is heading to Belgium this Easter to perform with Brass Band Heist.

Concert premiere

She will join up conductor Bert Van Theinen and his band to perform a concert this coming Easter Monday afternoon.

Katrina will perform works from her solo CD, as well as giving the Belgian premiere of 'Scaramouche' by Philip Sparke, a piece written especially for her in 2009.

I'm very excited to be returning to Belgian to perform as a soloist. It is a lovely country with a vibrant brass band movementKatrina Marzella

Excited

Katrina told 4BR: "I'm very excited to be returning to Belgian to perform as a soloist. It is a lovely country with a vibrant brass band movement. I have some good friends in Brass Band Heist — Bert and also Glenn Van Looy, who plays euphonium in the band — so it should be a great concert."

Magic

Bert Van Theinen added: "I first met Katrina at the 2004 Europeans in Glasgow and since then we have kept in touch. I invited her because the quality of her playing is great, and her CD 'Katrina' is even greater! When I invite someone I know there will be some magic on stage between the solist and conductor, but also between my musicians and her."
