Now that the mad month of March is out of the way in terms of contesting, the chase to become the 2010 4BR Money List winner is beginning to hot up.
Joke money
Although in purely money terms the Areas didn’t provide any real riches, that was more than made up in the glory, although surely the time has come for the individual Regional Committee’s to be able to raise additional prize money themselves — £200 for a regional victory is now nothing more than a joke.
New contest
The lack of prize money has also been brought more sharply into focus with the news of a new contest in the North East later this year with a £4,000 top prize. There is money out there then.
Since the last leader board was released there have been a few contests that have paid out a decent wodge of cash – notably at Tameside, Action Research and the Welsh Open.

Payouts
Bands though may have to wait for the payouts at the European, English National, Masters and Whit Friday before we get a more complete picture of just where the real money in banding has gone.
These are the bands that have banked £1,000 or more so far this year, although 175 bands in total have won prize money of some sort so far this year out of the £82,500 that has been paid out.
