The voice behind two of Sheffield’s top bands is to show his support to a local cancer charity by performing at a special concert.
Dolphin Boy
John Reilly, lead singer of Boy on a Dolphin' and Acoustic Angels, will take to the stage on April 3rd in aid of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.
He will be performing a unique set with Sheffield’s Stannington Band and the renowned Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir.
Thrilled
John told 4BR: "I’m thrilled to once again be involved in a fantastic event of this nature which is raising money for extremely worthwhile causes."
He added: "The level of care at Weston Park Hospital is legendary and we are extremely lucky to have such a world-class facility like this on our doorstep. For this reason I believe it is extremely important to raise funds for the hospital’s charity to enable this high level of care to continue."

Lady
With Stannington Band backing him, John will also be singing ‘You’re a Lady’, Peter Skellern’s famous hit with Grimethorpe Colliery Band in the 1970s. It is thought to be the first time the song has been performed with a live band for almost 20 years.
BBC Radio Sheffield’s Howie Pressman will host the evening, which will also feature John’s friend and song writing collaborator Lewis Nitikman.
Grateful
Catherine Newman, senior fundraiser at Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, told 4BR: "We are extremely grateful for John’s continued support and are thrilled that he will be once again performing at a special concert to raise funds for the charity. We look forward to the unique performances on the night."
Half the proceeds from the concert will be donated to Cavendish Cancer Care.
