Last call for Dobson's snip

Composer Simon Dobson will have the snip this Monday. So why not help him get over the pain with some charitable help.

Composer Simon Dobson is currently enjoying a last few hours with his most prized possession before he loses it to the dreaded snip.

The snip

This Monday, 22nd of February, he will be losing his famous dreadlocks in aid of the charity OCD-UK.

OCD-UK is the UK's leading charity working for and with, people suffering from Obssessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Wonderful charity

Simon has a family member with the illness and told 4BR: "As someone who has a diagnosed OCD sufferer in my family I have seen how debilitating the desease can be, and just how misunderstood this and many other mental illnesses are. Losing my dreadlocks for this wonderful charity is well worth the pain!"

Two foot long

Simon told 4BR: "I have been growing my dreadlocks for 8 years now, and they are nearly two feet long in length. As you can imagine to cut them off is going to be a pretty big change for me and I don't mind saying that I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing."

Simon will document the evening with photos and videos, so that those who have helped will be able to enjoy the moment of his Samsonesque demise!

Bilton Silver Rugby Band

November 22 • Bilton Silver (Rugby) requires a cornet player to join our Championship Section band (Position negotiable). Under MD Brad Turnbull we have a varied programme of events. Rehearsals are held on Monday and Friday at 7-45pm in our own purpose built bandroom.


Besses o'th' Barn Band

November 21 • Under the direction of David W Ashworth, we are making every effort to complete the rebuild of this very famous brass band. We require one kit and one tuned percussionists plus one Back Row Cornet to complete our line up for the North West Area Contest.
