4BR has been informed that Paul Cosh has been appointed full time Musical Director of Sherborne Town Band.

Long association

Paul has enjoyed a long association with the band since its very beginning in the early 1960’s.

The former Mortimer medal recipient told 4BR that he is looking forward to building on the band’s recent success at the Area and National Finals.

Stepping down

The present MD Steve Rogers is stepping down due to an increased work load as a full time music teacher. However, the band told 4BR that they were very pleased that Steve is remaining as a vital part of the organisation both as a player and assistant conductor.

The future of Sherborne also seems secure with the flourishing Youth Band, who under their Director David Bertie are going from strength to strength, with membership growing to over 30 players.
