New signings at Elmsall

Frickley South Elmsall announce a number of new signings.

Frickley South Elmsall have reported that they have made a number of new signings in time for their challenge to qualify for the second year in succession at the Yorkshire Regional championships.

Strong success

After a strong contesting year in 2009 which included 2nd place at the Areas and a fine 4th place at the National Finals, the band has been busy strengthening, most notably with two new euphonium players.

Simon Miller comes in on solo euphonium having most recently played with Cottingham band. The band also welcome Jolyon Stead on second euphonium from the recently defunct Pennine Brass.

I am delighted that both Simon and Jolyon have joined the band and we are now looking forward to adding their class and experience to an already strong middle lineMD, David Nichols

Delighted

Conductor David Nichols told 4BR: "I am delighted that both Simon and Jolyon have joined the band and we are now looking forward to adding their class and experience to an already strong middle line."

The band has also signed Andi Cook on Bb Bass from Yorkshire Co-op and Katy Saxton on solo cornet from the South Yorkshire Police band as well as Pete Watson on solo baritone from Knottingley Silver and Gary Clegg on 2nd trombone.
