Denton bag a new MD

Colin Myers is the new MD at Denton Brass.

Denton

Denton Brass has announced the appointment of Colin Myers as Musical Director.

Principal

Colin was previously the band’s Principal cornet player and the band believe that he therefore knows their current strengths and weaknesses.

Colin is currently head of music at Altrincham Grammer School. Originally from the North East he has previously played either Principal cornet or Soprano in many bands including Horton Colliery Band, City of Coventry Band and Mossley.

The band members are taking to Colin's style very well and are really enjoying their rehearsals with himDenton Brass

Looking forward

A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "Colin is looking forward to taking the band to the Area contest in Blackpool in March and has high hopes of bettering the bands position at this contest."

They added: "The band members are taking to Colin's style very well and are really enjoying their rehearsals with him. We look forward to a long and happy future with him in charge."
