Bands prepare for Welsh Open

There is a strong line up of bands at the Welsh Open early next month as BTM look to defend their title.

BTM

The Welsh Open Entertainment Concert will be held at The Pavilion, Porthcawl on February 20th.

Seafront

The contest will start at 12.00pm prompt, with two comfort breaks so that everyone has a chance to stretch their legs on the seafront.

13 bands have entered the contest this year, including two Welsh National Champions in Tongwynlais Temperance and City of Cardiff (Melingriffith).

English contenders

Two bands make the trip over the River Severn too, with Lydbrook from Gloucester, and for the first time, Staines Brass from the London & Southern Counties region.

Welsh rivals

The other competing bands are defending champions, BTM, six time winner Tredegar and championship rivals Abergavenny, along with current Welsh League Champion, Burry Port, Cwmamman, Markham, Pontardulais, Beaumaris and Rogerstone.

The adjudicator is David Read MBE.

Tickets

Tickets can be pre booked by contacting the booking office at The Pavilion on 01656 815995. Ticket prices the same as last year with £6 to sit in the balcony and £5 for a seat in the stalls.
