Saddleworth test piece evening

There will be an evening of Area test piece music in Saddleworth later next month headed by United Co-op Milnrow.

An evening when all five Area test pieces will be played has been arranged by David Ashworth, to take place at the Boarshurst Band Club, Greenbridge Lane, Greenfield, Saddleworth on Sunday 28th February — starting at 7.30pm.

All spectators are welcome and admission price will be only £1 per person. The Club's bar will be open in between band performances.

Bands

The five bands taking part are Boarshurst Silver conducted by David Ashworth, Uppermill conducted by Alan Widdop, Dobcross Silver conducted by Grenville Moore, Oldham Band (Lees) conducted by John Collins and United Co-op Milnrow conducted by John Ward.

Each band will warm up with a short piece before launching into the test piece they will perform at the Area Championship, and Dr Roy Newsome will be on hand to lend his opinions on each performance.
