The BFBB has informed 4BR that Youth Band membership of the organisation is discounted by 50% for 2010.
Membership entitles youth bands to a range of benefits including unlimited CRB checks and a highly competitive insurance scheme.
Progressive Awards
Bands may also apply for a 'Progressive Band Award' of up to £250 to help support and develop their organisation.
The latest band to benefit from such an award is Blockley Brass Band based in the North Cotswolds.
This non-contesting village band has been in existence for over 100 years and was delighted to receive £200 from the BFBB to fund a training workshop.

Success
Band secretary Rachel Galt told 4BR: "This is the fourth training day that we have organised and we invited members of other local bands to attend too. It was a great success and the funding paid a quartet of professional tutors to come along and put the sections through their paces."
Bonus
Since Blockley Band joined the BFBB they have accessed a number of the member services on offer, including the insurance scheme and guidance on various policies.
