Gwent Youth Festival

Despite the bad weather the Gwent Youth Festival will take place later this month — so get your entries in!

 

Despite the recent spell of bad weather in South Wales, the annual Gwent Youth Brass Band Festival will take place on January 30th at Coleg Gwent, Crosskeys.

Sections

There will be three competitive sections this year with Section 3 for Junior/Training Bands.

Bands in Sections 1 and 2 will be allowed to play seven adults and there will be trophies and prize monies to the winning bands in the three competitive sections and trophies to the best soloists and youngest players.

The closing date has been extended to Friday 15th January so there is still time to enterOrganisers

Programmes

Section 3 bands will play an entertainment programme up to 15 minutes and Section 1 & 2 bands will play an entertainment programme to a maximum of 20 minutes playing time.

There will be open adjudication and a pre-draw for the event.

The adjudicators for the 2010 Festival will be Nigel Seaman and Richard Evans.
