Macclesfield honours

Macclesfield Youth Band has been honouring their talented young performers.

The outstanding contributions of six members of Macclesfield Youth Band were recognised at their Christmas concert recently.

Awards

In the 'beginners' section, certificates were presented to Charlotte Lax who plays horn and trombonist Oliver Franklin, whilst Junior certificates went to Elizabeth Taylor who plays flugel and soprano player Tomas Gittins.

Honours in the senior band went to Bb bass player Laszlo Zorenyi and principal horn Rebecca Smith.

Success

The evening was a resounding success with over 100 young musicians performing to an enthusiastic audience.

The festivities were made all the more magical by the arrival of the first snow of the season during the performance creating a winter wonderland in the marketplace as everyone left the church.
