Gloucester celebrate

2009 was a fine year to celebrate for Gloucestershire Youth — with more to come in 2010 with Simone Rebello.

Gloucestershire Youth Band has been looking back with satisfaction on the past 12 months.

The band has enjoyed working with conductors Ian Porthouse and Nigel Seaman, as well as soloists such as Jonathan Pippen and Dave Danford.

Gold Award

The band also enjoyed its appearance at the National Youth Championships, where they gained a Gold Award in the Intermediate Section.

Following this success, the band was invited to perform at Kingsholm Rugby ground prior to the Gloucester v Worcester game, whilst some members also performed alongside 'Top Gear' presenter Richard Hammond in his 'Engineering Connections' programme helping to illustrate the Doppler effect.

The band also enjoyed its appearance at the National Youth Championships, where they gained a Gold Award in the Intermediate Section4BR

2010 start

The band also enjoyed its performance at the Youth Makes Music event, whilst in they also enjoyed their performance at Disneyland in Paris
and in the Jardin de Luxembourg on Bastille Day.

2010 will start with their January Course where Simone Rebello will be the featured soloist.
