A new dimension was added to the format for Chalford Band's recent Christmas concert at Stroud Subscription Rooms.
Incredibles
As the band played Philip Harper's arrangement of 'The Incredibles', a film showing Chalford's own version of the cartoon classic was projected.
The film was created by euphonium player Martin Clissold, and filmed in and around the band room with the Incredibles characters seen endlessly streaming out of a vehicle, in motorcycle stunts, dog chases and generally having fun.
The band produced a fine concert for their supporters with plenty of good playing linked to some fun and games to keep everyone happy4BR
Fine concert
The band produced a fine concert for their supporters with plenty of good playing linked to some fun and games to keep everyone happy.
A good mixed bag of seasonal and other music was performed by the Senior Band, Academy Brass, Youth and Junior bands. The 22 juniors, trained and conducted by Bev Godwin, earned a big ovation as usual.
Awards
All four ensembles, totalling about 80 players, combined for the latter part of the programme.
The 'Young Player of the Year' trophy was presented to Lianna Burnell, who plays flugel in the Academy Brass.
