Foden's Salute to Youth

Foden's thank their sponsors and aim for a youthful future of help at their end of year concert.

Fodens

Foden's Band recently gave their end of year annual Christmas Concert at Sandbach Boys School.

Sponsorship

The concert served to recognise the sponsorship help the band received from Sandbach Town Council, in addition to help from Cheshire East, Flowcrete, Wrights Printers and the small army of helpers who have enabled the band to enjoy a year of success that included wins at Brass in Concert, the All England Masters and an 8th successive Tameside Whit Friday title.

Salute to Youth

Stephen Sebire and Mark Greaves were presented with awards, whilst Abigail Foskett was presented with an award after her 'Salute to Youth' tag line became the new name on the Fodens Youth Patron's website.

The promotion of youth is a shared aim of the local council and Fodens and a number of events are planned in 2010 to help the area's young players.

Moving speech

A moving speech was given by the evening's compare, Joe Wilson, which coincided with the dispersal of the remaining articles and money from the Foden's Trust.

At the end of the speech Joe presented a cheque to John Barber, the band's chairman, for £1500 which was greatly received.
