WAG benefit for BTM

The BTM Band will be building for their future with a bit of help from the Welsh Assembly Government.

BTM

The BTM Band has announced that it has gained a significant financial award from the Welsh Assembly Government's Community Facilities and Activities Programme to refurbish it's bandroom.

Work started

The work has already begun and will see the design of the bandroom significantly changed, splitting it into two floors.

The ground floor will become a large rehearsal room incorporating a state of the art recording studio, whilst the upstairs area will contain smaller rehearsal rooms as well as the band’s library.

The refurbishment of will be a big boost and I’m sure it will allow us to achieve bigger and better things in the futureJeff Hutcherson, BTM Band

Centre of excellence

It is hoped the bandroom will become a centre of musical excellence offering local choirs, bands and school children the opportunity to access what will be the most modern and up to date musical facility in South Wales.

Local Welsh Assembly Member Jeff Cuthbert told 4BR: "With this funding I hope BTM can go from strength to strength, making an increasingly bigger name for themselves."

Big boost

Band Manager Jeff Hutcherson commented: "The offer of the grant from the Welsh Assembly was accepted with open arms. The refurbishment of will be a big boost and I’m sure it will allow us to achieve bigger and better things in the future."
