The Championships will be held at the famous Mercator Philharmonic Hall in Duisburg in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of the country between the 21st –23rd May.

It will be the first time that the growing contest will be held in the region after the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra worked in cooperation with the Folk Music Organisation (Volksmusikerbund) of North Rhine-Westphalia to bring the event to its new venue.

An entertainment contest will take place on the Friday evening, where bands from Germany as well as Belgium and Holland will compete. A jury of selected spectators will decide the winners.

An evening concert will round off the day’s musical entertainment, which will feature wind players from the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra alongside star cornet player Hans Gansch4BR
