Salford plays host to BTS Day

Salford University to getting ready to play host to the British Trombone Society.

This Sunday, Salford University once again plays host to the Northwest branch of the British Trombone Society and its annual trombone competition.

Enjoyable

Last year the competition focused on trombone ensembles with several quartets pitting themselves against each other in a hard fought battle and this year the competition hosts trombone soloists in what promises to be an enjoyable afternoon for all concerned.

Doors open to the event at Peel Hall in the University of Salford, at 12.00pm, with the contest due to get underway at 12.15pm. With a fantastic selection of pieces on offer the event promises to be a treat for the music enthusiast!

This year will see a host of soloists and a world class ensemble to look forward to4BR

Short concert

After the contest, audience members will be treated to a short concert given by a trombone quartet made up of players from the Brighouse & Rastrick Band.

This year will see a host of soloists and a world class ensemble to look forward to.

The event is set to finish at approximately 2:00pm and will cost £6 to audience members.
