Sixteen years after leaving Sellers Engineering Band, Alexandra Kerwin returns to Chapel Hill, this time to take over from Mark Bousie as Musical Director of the Sellers International Youth Band.
Happy years
Alex grew up around the corner from Sellers bandroom and spent four happy years under the watchful eye of Phillip McCann.
She is a teacher in the Huddersfield, Doncaster and Bradford area in addition to her position at Black Dyke Band.

Coming home
Speaking to 4BR, Alex said; "I’m absolutely delighted to have secured the position at Sellers. It’s like coming home. The band has a wonderful set up, a great committee, wonderful parents, talented players and of course the unwavering and generous support of David Armitage."
Give it my all
Alex added: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate Mark Bousie on his fantastic achievements with Sellers and wish him luck with his position at Fodens. It will be a challenge, we have some fresh young faces we have welcomed and said a sad goodbye to several experienced members who have gone on to university but I will give it my all and hopefully make some great music and have a lot of fun."
Alex will make her debut at the Help for Heroes Concert at St Paul’s in Huddersfield in December where Mark will bid farewell by conducting the first half and Alex will take the second.
