At the end of what has been another remarkable year for the City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band, the reigning Second Section National Champion has announced the transformation of their Training Band to full contest strength for 2010.

To ensure the band is well resourced for the future, it has decided to create a second band, under the working title 'Melingriffith 2' to incorporate existing members of the Training Band and an influx of new members.

Having just moved into a new bandroom, this gives us a wonderful opportunity to expand our organisation and to provide a reservoir of players to safeguard our futureChairman, Dave Howard

Fourth Section

As well as performing concerts, 'M2' will enter competitions in the Fourth Section next year and will provide a base for the development of players and an opportunity for those with sufficient talent to progress to the main Band.
