Sykes ready for Gala appearance

BBC Young Brass Soloist puts final touches to Brass in Concert Gala Concert appearance with Black Dyke.

Trombone soloist Stephen Sykes has been busy putting the final touches to his solo repertoire ahead of his Brass in Concert Gala Concert appearance as guest soloist with Dr. Nicholas Childs and the Black Dyke Band at the Sage on Saturday night.

Looking forward

The BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Soloist 2009 gained the opportunity to play at the prestigious event following his victory in the BBC competition earlier this year, and told 4BR that he was thoroughly looking forward to the chance to play at such a great concert venue.

Highlights of the concert will be broadcast on 'Listen To The Band' on BBC Radio 2 on Friday 20th November.
