Boots on new feet at Wellington

Musical changes have been made at the Wellington (Telford) Band.

Wellington

The Wellington (Telford) Band has made a number of musical changes for the future.

MD Steve Curtis has moved to Manchester to study for his Masters Degree and is unable to continue with his full committment to the band.

Professional and Resident

Steve has therefore accepted the position of Professional Conductor for future contests whilst Mark Phillips has been appointed as Resident Conductor with immediate effect.

Mark has been the bands solo horn player for several years but has also many years of conducting experience.

I'm very proud to be taking up the baton with Wellington after the success that Steve has brought to the bandResident Conductor, Mark Phillips

Proud

Mark commented to 4BR: "I'm very proud to be taking up the baton with Wellington after the success that Steve has brought to the band. I have learnt a lot over the last few years playing for Steve and now look forward to working with him to continue the good work he has started."

New home

The band also have a new home. After some time at Abraham Darby School in Ironbridge, the band has now relocated to the RAF Base in Cosford between Telford and Wolverhampton.
